THE EVENT:

Since 2011, TEDxBuffalo has taken place each October. TEDxBuffalo is an independently licensed TEDx event that follows the guidelines put in place by the TED conference 21 years ago. Using TED’s unique 18-minute time limit, we are able to provide the audience with talks on a variety of topics that are sure to inspire and educate. TEDxBuffalo strives to bring fresh faces with breathtaking ideas and projects to the stage in front of hundreds of people in the audience.

Details about TEDxBuffalo 2016 — our sixth year — will be announced soon.

THE SCHEDULE:

Those chosen to speak at TEDxBuffalo 2016, should take note of the time commitment necessary to help us put on a successful event. In the months leading up to the event, speakers will work with a coach (a member of the organizing committee), watch several TED and TEDx videos, and attend several table reads. Speakers will also attend a rehearsal one or two days before the event and are expected to attend the entire event.

SUBMITTING YOUR 2-MINUTE PITCH:

Pitch submissions will open May 1, 2016. Pitch videos are your chance to sell yourself, your work, and your big ideas to the TEDxBuffalo committee, so be sure to introduce yourself, tell us a bit about your background, and describe the talk that you plan to give. We know it’s impossible to compound a full talk into a 2-minute video, and we’re not looking for the whole thing — we’re looking for your love of, passion for, and ability to speak eloquently about your topic.
